POYNETTS HOUSE & WOOD DERIVE THEIR NAME FROM THE POYNANTS, C14 HOLDERS OF SKIRMETT MANOR. HOUSE IS MODERN WITH C17 NUCLEUS. FOUNDATIONS OF AN OLDER HOUSE, BURNT DOWN IN C14 OR C15, LIE C.50M E OF PRESENT HOUSE (B1).
GARDENER AT HOUSE FOR 20 YEARS DID NOT KNOW OF ANY FOUNDATIONS (B2).
