1599 SALDEN ESTATE MAP MARKS 'GREAT HORWOOD BRIDGE' APPROX AT NGR(B1). PRESENT BRIDGE IS MODERN CONCRETE. ROAD APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN RECENTLY REALIGNED. NO VISIBLE EVIDENCE OF EARLIER BRIDGE(B2).
