ALTHOUGH EACH BURH WAS ALLOWED TO HAVE A MINT UNDER THE LAWS OF ATHELSTAN (925-939)(B1),THERE IS NO EVIDENCE FOR A MINT AT BUCKINGHAM UNTIL EADGAR'S RECOINAGE IN 973. 36 COINS OF THE BUCKINGHAM MINT ARE KNOWN,THE EARLIEST OF C.975,THE LATEST C.1060 (B5,B1,6). NGR TO TOWN CENTRE.
