Full description

WINSLOW WAS A RESIDENCE OF THE MERCIAN KINGS (BI1); OFFA (757-96) PLANNED THE FOUNDING OF THE MONASTERY OF ST ALBANS DURING A STAY ON HIS WINSLOW ESTATE C792. HE LATER GAVE THE ESTATE TO THE MONASTERY AS A FOUNDATION GIFT(BI3-MANORIAL HISTORY). NGR - DENE'S HILL, SITE OF OFFA'S PIECE(BI4)
