Feature

A feature, in this case a well found in excavations at BiertonThe term feature is used to describe the individual physical remains of human activities on a site. Thus a stone floor or a well would each be termed a ‘feature’ as would a grave or a wall footing. The location of features with regard to one another may well indicate which are earlier or later in creation and use.
