Arcade

Blind arcading on the polygonal apse of All Saints', WingA series of arches supported by piers or columns. They can often separate an aisle from the main body of a church. An arcade can also be a covered shopping street. Blind arcade or arcading is the same applied to a wall surface, such as at All Saints', Wing. A wall arcade in medieval churches is a blind arcade forming a dado below windows.
